U.S. Offers Support in Search for Indonesian Sub

National Security Advisor spoke with Foreign Minister of Indonesia.

On Thursday, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan spoke with Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi of Indonesia regarding the submarine that has been missing near Bali. Indonesian search teams believe it to have sunk approximately between 150 to 300 feet below the surface of the oil slick. There are 53 crew aboard.

Mr. Sullivan expressed concern for the situation and offered the help of the United States in search and rescue efforts. He also emphasized President Biden’s commitment to the U.S.-Indonesia Strategic Partnership, promoting ASEAN centrality, and upholding international law on the Indo-Pacific seas.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the national security advisor as he interacts with foreign allies.
  • For the cooperation of nations in the search and rescue of the Indonesian submarine crew.
