Interior Holds Forum on Oil and Gas Program

President’s administration prioritizes climate change.

On Friday, the Department of the Interior held a public forum on what the future of the national gas and oil program would look like. Currently, the Interior Department is conducting a review of the program in light of the policies toward profit and climate protections of the past four years.

Secretary Haaland critiqued the former administration’s approach to leasing out gas and oil drilling rights in light of climate change. In her opening remarks to the forum she said, “In order to tackle the climate crisis and strengthen our nation’s economy, we must manage our lands, waters, and resources not just across fiscal years, but across generations. Now is the time for all of us to have a frank conversation about the future of our shared resources. “

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That God would lead the Interior Department to steward U.S. lands appropriately.
  • That the Lord would guide Secretary Haaland as she leads the Interior Department.
  • That God would help the president’s administration balance the energy and environmental needs of the country.
