U.S. Sending $125 Million in Aid to Ukraine

Pentagon sending armed naval vessels and counterartillery.

The Pentagon announced this week that $125 million in military aid will be delivered to Ukraine. Provided under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, the Pentagon said, “this action reaffirms the U.S. commitment to providing defensive lethal weapons to enable Ukraine to more effectively defend itself against Russian aggression.”

The Pentagon statement detailed that the current aid “includes training, equipment, and advisory efforts to help Ukraine’s forces preserve the country’s territorial integrity, secure its borders, and improve interoperability with NATO.“

The U.S. Defense Department also stated that it “encourages Ukraine to continue to enact reforms that strengthen civilian control of the military, promote increased transparency and accountability in defense industry and procurement, and modernize its defense sector in other key areas in line with NATO principles and standards.” Kyiv may receive another $150 million if reforms and anti-corruption progress are accomplished.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For God to be at work in the U.S. relationship with and assistance of other nations.
  • That God would give the leaders of the Defense Department discernment as they head the Pentagon and advise the president.
  • For the president to seek God’s wisdom as aid is sent to foreign countries.
