Senate Panel Schedules CIA Nominee Hearing

Review for Biden nominee begins on Wednesday.

On Monday, the Senate Intelligence Committee announced its hearing date for President Biden’s pick to lead the CIA. William Burns will sit before the panel on Wednesday to answer questions about his career as a diplomat and ambassador. He currently serves as the president of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and has served in the administrations of both major parties.

When President Biden announced William Burns’ nomination he said, “Bill Burns is an exemplary diplomat with decades of experience on the world stage keeping our people and our country safe and secure.” He went on to say, “He shares my profound belief that intelligence must be apolitical and that the dedicated intelligence professionals serving our nation deserve our gratitude and respect.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the Senate to have wisdom on the best way to vote on this nomination.
  • That God would guide President Biden as he chooses members of his administration.
  • That the Senate Panel would be discerning in their screening of Mr. Burns.
