ICE Strengthens Fugitive Agreement with Guatemala

Partnership renewed and expanded regarding information sharing.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials met with Guatemalan government officials earlier this month to renew and expand existing agreements on information sharing. The partnership includes the transmission of information regarding gang affiliations and convictions as well as fugitive and criminal histories.

“This memorandum of cooperation demonstrates the shared commitment of our nations to ensure public safety and prevent bad actors from slipping through the cracks of our immigration systems,” said Assistant Director for Enforcement Chris Cronen of ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations. “Exchanging vital criminal information for the most egregious offenders gives us the full picture of potential public safety and national security threats to both nations.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the partnership between the U.S. and other nations as they work to uphold law and order.
  • For the Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials to be effective in protecting citizens and immigrants.
