Domestic Travel Restrictions Considered by White House

Mixed messages by administration as migrants allowed to cross southern border without tests.

The president’s administration is considering imposing domestic travel restrictions as possible means of curbing the spread of the coronavirus mutations. Officials are reviewing how to prevent the spread of the variant forms of the virus that appear to be surging in some states, including California and Florida.

Senator Marco Rubio of Florida said that a domestic travel ban would be unconstitutional and would be “challenged successfully.”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, also called the potential move unconstitutional, stating that he does not believe diagnostic tests should be a prerequisite to domestic air travel, particularly while the administration simultaneously allows undocumented migrants to enter through the nation’s southern border without being tested.

So far, no specific decisions have been made nor have agencies like the CDC put forth new measures to assure the health and safety of domestic air travel.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That God would lead the president’s administration to discerning actions for prevention of the variant spread.
  • For Health and Human Services and the CDC as they look to measures to help control the spread of mutations of the coronavirus.
  • For God’s will to be accomplished through the mitigation methods.
