FHA Issues Waivers for Mortgage Processing

Allows for remote interaction rather than usual in-person contact.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development announced waivers of certain provisions in the Federal Housing Administration to allow for social distancing. Under ordinary circumstances, in-person contact between FHA borrowers and mortgage servicers would be required.

“President Biden has made it clear that protecting the health, safety, and homeownership security of the nation’s most vulnerable populations, including seniors, are urgent and immediate priorities,” said Acting HUD Secretary Matthew Ammon. “The policy waivers issued today are another important step in addressing these priorities.”

The FHA has also extended the moratorium on evictions and foreclosures through the end of March 2021.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the Department of Housing and Urban Development as they seek to support the housing needs of Americans.
  • For the FHA as they make concessions to protect vulnerable citizens from the coronavirus infection.
  • For acting Secretary Ammon as he leads his department.
