COVID-19 Economic Stop-gap Proposed

Would increase federal aid programs for struggling Americans.

On Friday, President Biden announced his approach to continuing the federal response to the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The president has pitched a 1.9 trillion bill for congressional approval and is expected to work with congressional leaders in the coming days. Additionally, he signed a batch of executive orders to help those the administration says are most in need. The orders include increased food aid, make it easier to obtain government aid, and a path for federal workers to have a $15 minimum wage.

President Biden said as a part of the proposal, “The bottom line is this: We are in a national emergency. We need to act like we’re in a national emergency. So we got to move with everything we got. We’ve got to do it together. I don’t believe Democrats or Republicans are going hungry and losing jobs, I believe, Americans are going hungry and losing jobs.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For God to use the president’s Administration to help bring further economic relief to the American people.
  • That the White House would seek God’s guidance in how to best work with to partner with Congress in the coming days.
  • For President Biden to seek direction from God during this time as he makes decisions.
