Saturday, December 26

President Donald Trump and the first family are continuing their holiday stay at their Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida. The president has no public events on his schedule but is expected to take part in various meetings and events. On Christmas Day, the president spoke with servicemen and women from around the world via teleconference to encourage them and wish them a Merry Christmas. In addition, the president called on Congress to reach a new COVID relief package without the addition of unrelated laws and billions of dollars in unrelated spending.

As part of the president’s Christmas address, he made a special point to thank the many who are spending the holidays away from family. He said, “To military families who are unable to celebrate Christmas together this year, our Nation humbly thanks you for your service and sacrifice. We are forever indebted to those who courageously serve our country in uniform—and those who walk alongside them. We also thank our Nation’s first responders, law enforcement officers, and frontline medical professionals who work tirelessly to serve and protect our communities.  Your daily contributions are an example of the selfless love of God and remind us of the noble principles we strive to live by, especially during this special time of year.”

The president concluded by wishing the rest of the nation “a very merry Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous New Year.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For rest and encouragement for President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump and their family.
  • For God to be at work through the meetings and efforts of the president today.
  • For Congress as they continue work on COVID relief for the American people.
