Education Secretary Calls for Focus to Remain on Students

Preparing Department for Biden Administration.

Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos held a Department meeting with staff members last week. Her remarks focused on the upcoming transition to the Biden administration and she admonished career members of the Department to resist actions that would not benefit students in the next four years. Secretary DeVos has not yet indicated if she would resign in the coming days.

During her statements to staff members of the Education Department, Secretary DeVos encouraged them to resist “forces that will derail you from doing what’s right for students. In everything you do, please put students first — always.” She went on to reflect on her time in the president’s Cabinet stating that she hopes she had created a better country for students in her four years in office.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For God to help the Education Department to improve the learning of all Americans.
  • That Secretary DeVos’ policies would result in better outcomes for students nationwide.
