Through it All

When things are out of your control.

Romans 8:31 – What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

You may be familiar with the Andre Crouch song, “Through it All,” where he says that despite tears, sorrows, questions, and confusion, he has been consoled knowing “my trials come to only make me strong.” Through it all, he writes, “I’ve learned to trust in Jesus, I’ve learned to trust in God… I’ve learned to depend upon His Word.”

There can be no doubt that 2020 has brought hardships and fears into the lives of many, weighing even believers down as they seek ways to cope. When you process the many events of the year, look for the truths of God’s work, particularly His promises, to bring you through.  As you turn yourself toward Him, you can transcend the problems of this life, reminding yourself that the problems or disappointments you face are small to the Lord.  Just a few more verses beyond the verse for today, it says, “In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us” (Romans 8:37).  He has promised to bring you through it all! Trust Him.

Pray With Us

Holy God, once more Your Word is the encouragement I need in my life today.  Even though there are things that weigh heavily upon me, I understand the best way to cope is by transcending them by focusing and pondering the truths of Your Word, so richly spoken. Thank You for Your promise that I shall prevail with You as my Shield and Defender, and that You will never leave me or forsake me. I am so blessed, and I love You, Lord. Amen.

  • Thank God for the availability of His Word and how it is applicable each day to every situation.
  • Thank Him for the many promises He has given you—name one or two that touch you today.
  • Thank Him for the future He has destined for you, here on Earth, and In His Heavenly Kingdom.
  • Thank Him for the security you have in Him through Jesus Christ.
  • Ask Him to remind you when you get discouraged that He is present with you.
