He has the power to cover any issue you may face.
1 Peter 5:7 – Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
The colorful poster in the bookstore said, “Don’t tell God you have a big problem…tell your problem you have a big God.” Cares, anxieties, concerns, worries, when you think about it, don’t they all seem like the product of your circumstances? And Heaven knows (yes it does!) that there have been some unusual circumstances at play this year. But the question for you is… who would you rather have watching over your circumstances—you or God? Who has the power to deal with them?
It is easy to bring God down to your own level of thinking instead of lifting yourself up to thinking about His way of doing things. You should not be asking so much, “Why, God?” as to ask “What, God? What are you trying to show me or teach me now?”
An old Kenny Rogers’ song says, “You need to know when to hold ‘em, know when to fold ‘em.” Isn’t it time to hand your circumstances over to God in a spiritual transfer of power? He is fully capable of handling whatever it is that comes your way, and you don’t need to hold onto them or to the anxieties they bring with them. God is still sovereign. He is still in control. He has a plan, and He is working it. “Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!” (Romans 11:33).

Heavenly Father, here I am again, guilty of not turning over to You all of my cares and anxieties. An old pastor once said that we have a tendency to do kite-string prayers; we raise them up to You, but we don’t let go of the other end of the string. Thank You for teaching me every day how faithful You are, how much You love me and care about me. Your ways are just too wonderful for me! I love you, God. Amen.
- Thank God for the personal relationship you have with the Father through His Son.
- Ask God to show you areas in which you can hand over your anxieties to Him.
- Praise God that He has a plan for you and for the nation, and that those plans area already in motion.
- Pray for God to show you how He is at work and how you can be a part of it.
- Pray for God to reveal more clearly how much bigger He is than anything you may be facing.
