Dr. Scott Atlas resigns from the president’s administration.
The White House announced this week that Dr. Scott Atlas’ service with the administration has ended. Dr. Atlas is a neuroradiologist and scientist who has been a vocal dissenter of the Center for Disease Control’s measures to control the spread of the virus.
Designated as a “special government employee,” his government service was limited to 130 days in a calendar year. Having joined the White House Coronavirus Task Force in August, that limit was reached this week.
In his resignation letter, Dr. Atlas wrote, “I always relied on the latest science and evidence, without any political consideration or influence. … I cannot think of a time where safeguarding science and the scientific debate is more urgent.”
