Trump Air Force One

Today, President Donald Trump is staying at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida. Deputy White House Press Secretary Judd Deere said that, in the morning, “President Trump plans to early vote on Saturday in West Palm Beach, Florida.”

In the afternoon, the president will travel to Lumberton, North Carolina, where he will deliver remarks at an event called Fighting for the Forgotten Men and Women. The event will focus on the effort to pass the Lumbee Recognition Act, which would grant federal recognition to the Lumbee tribe of North Carolina. President Trump said earlier in the week, “As president, I am committed to looking out for the needs of every American, including those of Native American heritage. For more than a century, the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina has sought federal recognition, but has been met with indifference and red tape.” He added, “I am announcing my full support for S.1368, the Lumbee Recognition Act, which would make qualifying members of the Lumbee Tribe eligible for the services and benefits provided to members of federally recognized tribes. Lumbee Nation is forgotten no more!”

The bill is currently being reviewed by the Senate and the House of Representatives. Supporters aim to have the legislation passed by the end of 2020.

The president will also travel to Circleville, Ohio, and Waukesha, Wisconsin, to take part in campaign events. He will return to the White House in the evening.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For safety and good health for the president as he travels.
  • For God to be at work through the efforts of the president and Congressional leaders as they look to pass this new legislation.
  • For guidance for the president as he tackles the many issues facing the nation in the midst of his campaign travel.
