Phone a Friend

Encouraging one another is God’s way.

Isaiah 41:6 – Everyone helps his neighbor and says to his brother, “Be strong!”

There can be little doubt that America, and the entire world, is and has been in a high-panic mode for time…and from advance looks at post-election possibilities, it could remain there. As a Christ follower, it is well within your power to help people impacted by their own sense of fear and panic by giving them the reassurance that God is still in control, no matter what!

Television game shows have become more watched during the coronavirus shutdowns than before. Several of them offer contestants an opportunity to phone a friend for answers to questions that puzzle them. You can turn the tables on that concept, by phoning a friend, not with a question, but with an answer. It is God who will lead you through the struggles of the day, but you must keep your focus on Him. Pray and seek His guidance if you feel unsure. Then, step out in the faith that He has given you, and phone that friend.

Pray With Us

Heavenly Father, You are so good.  You don’t chastise me, as You could, for getting wrapped up in my own circumstances. But I confess that I need to think more frequently of my brothers and sisters in Christ, and to encourage them to be strong during these troublesome days. We are in this together, they and I, and we need each other. Help me to be smart, prudent, and sensitive. Let your Spirit remind me of the friend who needs my call today. In Jesus Name I ask,

Amen.
