Time for Endurance

Don’t give up.

Hebrews 10:36 – For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.

The dictionary says that endurance is the fact or power of enduring an unpleasant or difficult process or situation without giving way.  There is much about the idea of enduring that does not appeal to most Christians.  Nothing about enduring seems borne out of pleasantness.

Romans 5:3-4   reminds you that it is suffering that produces endurance.  In the first chapter of James, he says it is through trials. 1 Corinthians 10:13 says endurance comes out of being tempted. You have heard preachers say, “Some days life is hard. Other days life is harder.”

When you are feeling like you just want to give up, remember that it is Jesus who can soothe your soul, calm your emotions, ease your troubled mind, and strengthen your resolve. Hold on to your faith in Him. Don’t give way to fears. Hear Jesus tell the wind and waves, “Peace, be still!” and let that same stillness flow into your life.

Pray With Us

Dear God in Heaven, You are my source of strength. Please give me what I need to endure this present situation and to find the blessings and lessons that it contains.  Guide my pathway forward and please give me the endurance to forge ahead. I desire Your Holy Spirit to overtake my thoughts, words and actions, so that I might walk in your path of peace and love. Thank You for hearing my prayer, for I ask it in the Name of Jesus.

Amen.
