DOJ Announces Results of Opioid Takedown

179 arrested in U.S. and Europe during the federal operation.

The Justice Department announced the results earlier this week of a worldwide opioid takedown. The Department reported that 179 people were arrested and over $6.5 million worth of contraband was seized. The operation shut down the “Wall Street Market” a darknet service that allowed dealers to sell the product for bitcoin.

Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen declared that the crackdown makes it clear that “there will be no safe haven for drug dealing in cyberspace.” All in all, 119 arrests were made in the U.S, two in Canada, 42 in Germany, eight in the Netherlands, four in the U.K., three in Austria, and one in Sweden.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the Justice Department to keep the nation safe from dangerous substances.
  • That the Trump Administration as it seeks to bring an end to the illegal drug trade.
  • For Americans to find help and healing from drug addiction.
