President Will Announce Court Nominee This Week

Will wait until services for Justice Ginsburg are over.

President Trump said Monday he will announce his nominee to replace Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg by the end of the week.

“I think it’ll be on Friday or Saturday. And we want to pay respect. We, it looks like, it looks like we will have, probably, services on Thursday or Friday, as I understand it. I think in all due respect, we should wait until the services are over for Justice Ginsburg. And so we’re looking probably on Friday or maybe Saturday,” he said.

Later on Monday, Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany predicted “a very quick turn of events. You will certainly be hearing this week who that nominee is.” She said the White House believes they will be able to secure enough votes to have a justice confirmed before the end of the president’s first term and potentially before Election Day on November 3.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump and his legal advisers as they conclude the selection of the person they will nominate to replace Justice Ginsburg.
  • For the next nominee to the Supreme Court to have a fair hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee and an appropriate vote.
  • That the president’s Constitutional responsibility to nominate a replacement Justice would be respected.
  • For the family, friends and colleagues of Justice Ginsburg as they continue to mourn her passing.
