President Donald Trump will travel to Sacramento, California, to receive a briefing from emergency officials on the wildfires that are devastating that state. Over 3 million acres have burned in 29 major blazes throughout California.

The president will meet with politicians and fire officials at McClellan Park, formerly an Air Force base, being used as the operations hub for U.S. Forest Service and Cal Fire. Cal Fire tankers laden with fire retardent have routinely taken off from McClellan Airport.

California governor, Gavin Newsom said last month that the president has responded quickly to his calls and that “the working relationship privately is an effective one.” The president declared a major disaster in August due to the wildfires.

White House spokesman Judd Deere reported, “Since mid-August, President Trump and Governor Newsom have spoken by phone and the White House and FEMA have remained in constant contact with State and local officials throughout the response to these natural disasters.” He also stated, “The President continues to support those who are battling raging wildfires in a locally-executed, state-managed, and federally-supported emergency response.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For safe flights for President Trump as he goes to California and Arizona today.
  • For officials and firefighters working to stop the blazes raging across the West Coast.
  • For God to be with those who have evacuated or lost their homes to the infernos.
