Western U.S. Water Supply Beginning to Run Low

Water level projections are not encouraging.

The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation was formed in 1902 in order to address the issue of water supply in the Western United States, an area spanning from Texas to Washington. After many years of observation, the Bureau released projections at the end of last week that predicted that key freshwater reservoirs in the area would dip 16 feet by January after years of steady draining.

Despite the steep drop, there is a set threshold put in place that triggers intense limitations to water access in the west, and that threshold will likely not be passed for another few years. Although concerning, there is a decent sized cushion that will allow for citizens, farmers, and politicians to strategize further action with regards to water conservation.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That the Lord would provide water to the western United States.
  • For the Bureau of Reclamation to have wisdom as they manage the water resources of the U.S.
  • For President Trump as he oversees the creation that God has placed under his jurisdiction.
