Secretary Pompeo Calls for UN Partnership

Asks for united action against Iran.

On Friday, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo appealed to members of the United Nations, calling for a unified effort against Iran. “We ask nations to urge the U.N. Security Council to renew the arms embargo on Iran,” he said. The U.S. has called for an embargo against the Middle Eastern nation due to its lack of compliance with prior nuclear deals.

The embargo placed on Iran is set to expire in October, and it is uncertain if UN members will vote to continue it. Asked if the United States would take singular action if the measure failed, Secretary Pompeo said, “when we see the results of that we’ll make the decision about how to move forward.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That God would lead the State Department in its relationship with Iran
  • For Secretary Pompeo to be given wisdom on how to lead the State Department.
  • For President Trump’s Administration to build a strong relationship with foreign leaders.
