Crimson Stained

Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. – Mark 11:24

Psalm 22 tells about the suffering and death of Christ 1,000 years before He was crucified. Verse 1 says, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? …” In verse 6, Jesus says, “But I am a worm, and not a man.” The Hebrew word He used here for worm means “Crimson worm.”

When it’s time for the female Crimson worm to lay eggs, she attaches her body to wood and makes a hard crimson shell. That shell can never be removed without tearing her body completely apart and killing her. The Crimson worm then lays her eggs under her body and the protective shell. When the baby worms hatch, they stay under the shell. Not only does the mother’s body give protection for her babies, but it also provides them with food since the babies feed on the living body of the mother!

After just a few days, as the mother dies, she oozes a crimson or scarlet red dye which not only stains the wood but also the baby worms. They are colored scarlet red for the rest of their lives. After three days, the dead mother worm’s body loses its crimson color and turns into a white wax which falls to the ground like snow.

Remember the Lord will never leave you or forsake you. He will always provide your needs. So whatever challenges you may experience, seek Him in prayer knowing He made the ultimate sacrifice for you. He has washed you with His crimson blood and your sins are now white as snow. Pray that your leaders on Capitol Hill will trust Him for their present and future needs.

Today’s Verse: Mark 11:24

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
    Why are you so far from saving me, from the words of my groaning?
O my God, I cry by day, but you do not answer,
    and by night, but I find no rest.
Yet you are holy,
    enthroned on the praises of Israel.
In you our fathers trusted;
    they trusted, and you delivered them.
To you they cried and were rescued;
    in you they trusted and were not put to shame.
But I am a worm and not a man,
    scorned by mankind and despised by the people.
All who see me mock me;
    they make mouths at me; they wag their heads;
“He trusts in the Lord; let him deliver him;
    let him rescue him, for he delights in him!”
Yet you are he who took me from the womb;
    you made me trust you at my mother’s breasts.
10 On you was I cast from my birth,
    and from my mother’s womb you have been my God.
