President Donald Trump will have a working lunch with Vice President Mike Pence today. Last week at the U.S. Public Health Service headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, the vice president said, “The American people deserve to know that we’re in a much better place today, thanks to the whole-of-government approach, the whole-of-America approach that President Trump initiated at the very outset of the coronavirus pandemic.” The president will like discuss the national landscape with regard to the virus and economic recovery with the vice president.
In the afternoon, President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will take part in a National Dialogue on Safely Reopening America’s Schools. According to the guidelines put forth by the Coronavirus Task Force on Opening Up America Again, under Phase Two schools and organized youth activities can resume. Phase Two criteria are for States and Regions with no evidence of a rebound of virus cases.
The American Academy of Pediatrics recently recommended that students should physically attend classes in school this fall and many states are formulating plans for class attendance.
