Christian Figures and Symbols Become Targets of Vandals

President Trump taking measures to prevent destruction.

As demonstrators continue to vandalize across the nation, the latest targets are Christian symbols and figures, including those of Jesus Christ Himself.

What began as a campaign against Confederate figures has devolved into activists forcibly tearing down or calling for the toppling of monuments to former U.S. presidents, abolitionists, and other historic figures.

President Trump has promised to sign an executive order by the end of the week to protect public statues and federal monuments, he told a crowd on Wednesday.

“They’re looking at Jesus Christ; they’re looking at George Washington; they’re looking at Abraham Lincoln’ they’re looking at Thomas Jefferson,” he said in a news conference. “It’s not going to happen.”

Activist Shaun King said earlier this week that all images depicting Jesus as a “white European” should be torn down because they are a form of “white supremacy” and “racist propaganda.” He called for murals, stained glass windows of “Jesus and his European mother,” and their “white friends” to be taken down.

Constitutional law attorney and senior legal advisor to the Trump 2020 campaign, Jenna Ellis, stated, “If they try to cancel Christianity, If they try to force me to apologize or recant my Faith, I will not bend, I will not waver, I will not break.” She added, “On Christ the Solid Rock I stand. And I’m proud to be an American.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump and his advisers as they work on an executive order to protect federal properties and other historic items.
  • For individuals charged with the protection of federal monuments and the artworks in churches.
  • That all Christ followers would be bold in standing and  contending for their faith in the Lord.
  • That the light of God’s truth would expose darkness across the nation everywhere it exists.
