Interior Department Announces Water Project Transfer

First of its kind project transfer will allow local ownership of federal built infrastructure.

The Interior Department announced earlier this week that it would be transferring the ownership of two federally-controlled water projects in Utah to local water companies. This transfer was made possible by an Act that was signed by President Trump in 2019 and will allow dams, canals, laterals and other water-related facilities to be given over to local organizations.

Secretary of the Interior David Bernhardt said of the transfers, “These title transfers fulfill the Trump Administration’s goals to streamline bureaucratic processes, empower local ownership and facilitate infrastructure investment and job growth. Transferring some facilities into local ownership is also a win for the federal government, which will save taxpayer dollars due to decreased operating costs and reduced liability.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That God would use the Interior Department to protect the nation’s water sources.
  • For wisdom for Secretary Bernhardt as he leads the Interior Department.
  • For the Trump Administration to protect the natural resources of the country for years to come.
