Interior Requests Funding for National Park Maintenance

Calls for Congress to pass Great American Outdoors Act

The Interior Department called on Congress to pass the Great American Outdoors Act on Wednesday. The bill, currently being considered by the Senate, would provide economic support to communities surrounding national parks, as well as funding for improvements and maintenance of the nation’s parks.

According to a press release from the Interior Department, “many roads, bridges, visitor centers, historic buildings, trails, and campgrounds are in need of critical repairs.” Secretary of the Interior Bernhardt stated that the need for repairs has grown due to deferred maintenance over the last few years. He also expressed the importance of this maintenance in order to preserve national parks for generations to come.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For God to use Secretary Bernhardt to lead the Interior Department to be preserved for years to come.
  • That President Trump would be given wisdom from God on how to steward the nation’s natural resources.
  • For Congress to have wisdom on if they should pass the Great American Outdoors Act.
