God-Confidence

Commit your ways to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.  – Psalm 37:5

As a Christian you are not alone. You are not abandoned. You aren’t left to fend for yourself like some feral cat. How marvelous it is to think that the God who created the universe is willing to help you, if you just pray according to His will and believe you have what you ask. Believing that you have what you ask may be a tall order when you haven’t physically received the answer yet. In fact, circumstances may look like they are only getting worse when you pray. This is a testing of faith.

Many say when they are going through trouble, “Where is God? Doesn’t He hear me?” His love and faithfulness has already been proved in Jesus. You can be confident in Him. But can He be confident in you? Can you pray according to His will? Have you discovered what His will is by reading His Word? Do you pray believing? If you truly believe, you won’t be wondering if God has left you or abandoned you. You will confidently wait.

Sometimes you must prepare for His answers. For instance, when Jesus fed the five thousand, He had the disciples organize the people into groups of fifty before the bread and fish showed up (Luke 9:14). Today’s verse shows you are to commit, and trust and God will act. God is not a mere religious belief. He is a powerful being fully equipped to answer your prayers. Intercede for this nation with confident faith that God will accomplish His will in the United States as His people pray.

Today’s Verse: Psalm 37:5

20 As they passed by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered away to its roots. 21 And Peter remembered and said to him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree that you cursed has withered.” 22 And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. 23 Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25 And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”
