Today, President Donald Trump will remain in Washington, D.C. He will hold a press conference about China from the White House in the afternoon.

Not only has the president expressed consistent disapproval over the multiple ways China mishandled the coronavirus, but recently tensions have increased over a security law proposed by Beijing that violates the independence of Hong Kong.

On Wednesday, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo indicated Hong Kong is no longer autonomous from China. Hong Kong has been granted certain legal and economic privileges based on a legislated annual certification of autonomy that validated different treatment from the U.S. than the mainland receives.

Other items of concern to the president’s administration have been the border dispute occurring between China and India, and the way China has treated Uyghur ethnic minority citizens.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump as he addresses the issues surrounding China.
  • For discernment for the president’s administration as they evaluate the situation with China.
  • For Secretary of State Pompeo as he implements U.S. diplomatic strategies.
