President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will be traveling to Baltimore, Maryland today, after a wreath laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. They will visit Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine, participating in a memorial ceremony to honor those who have given their lives in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Fort McHenry was the site at which the flying of the American flag during the War of 1812 inspired the poem, penned by Francis Scott Key, that would become “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

In President Trump’s Memorial Day Proclamation, he stated, “As we pay tribute to the lives and legacies of these patriots on Memorial Day, we also remember that they sacrificed to create a better, more peaceful future for our Nation and the world. We recommit to realizing that vision, honoring the service of so many who have placed love of country above all else.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president and first lady as they honor the fallen.
  • For those who have lost loved ones in service to the United States.
  • For all who currently serve in harm’s way to protect America.
