President Fires State Department Inspector General

Steve Linick was conducting an investigation into the Secretary of State.

This past weekend, President Trump announced that he would no longer have State Department Inspector General Steve Linick in his administration. According to a State Department official, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo suggested the removal of Mr. Linick, who was appointed to investigate possible misuse of a political appointee by Secretary Pompeo.

Mr. Linick was appointed to his role by President Obama in 2013 and will be replaced by Stephen Akard. Speaker of the House Pelosi disagreed with President Trump’s decision. She is of the opinion that oversight by opposing party members is necessary.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That God would lead President Trump to appoint the strongest individuals in his administration.
  • For Secretary Pompeo to be used by God to lead the State Department effectively.
  • That Stephen Akard would be diligent in his role.
