Administration Approves Massive Solar Farm

Should generate enough power for 260,000 homes.

The Trump Administration’s Interior Department approved a proposal to construct and operate the largest solar power project in America’s history, issuing a final permit for a massive facility just north of Las Vegas, Nevada.

The $1 billion Gemini project would be the eighth-largest solar facility in the world, generating 690 megawatts of power, enough electricity for 260,000 homes in Las Vegas and Southern California. When the project is completed in 2022, it will generate more than $3 million annually in federal revenues, the Interior Department said.

The project will span some 7,000 acres of federal land, and construction would create 500 to 700 jobs, along with 1,000 support jobs. When it is completed, it will support 19 permanent jobs.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the builders of the vast solar farm as they begin construction outside Las Vegas.
  • For Interior Secretary Bernhardt and Energy Secretary Bouillotte as they work on projects that will expand alternative energy sources.
