U.S. OK’s First COVID-19 At-Home Kit

Healthcare workers and first responders will have new testing option.

On Tuesday the FDA announced that an at-home COVID-19 test kit would now be available for use within the United States. The kit, sold by LabCorp, would allow patients to self-swab at home, and send the kit into the lab for testing. According to FDA Commissioner Hahn, the kit is, “as safe and accurate as sample collection at a doctor’s office, hospital or other testing site.”

At this time it is only available for use by healthcare workers and first responders under their doctor’s orders. Users must first complete an online questionnaire and get authorization from their doctor before LabCorp will send the kit to their home. The cost per kit is $119, and not be available in states banning at-home sample collection kits.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That God would use Commissioner Hahn to lead the FDA effectively.
  • That the FDA would quickly find the needed treatments for COVID-19
  • That God would guide the Trump Administration to an end of this pandemic.
