Small Business Stimulus Program Funds Nearly Gone

Additional funding of $250 billion being considered.

According to the Senate Small Business Committee, funding for the stimulus program for small businesses had nearly run out as of Wednesday. Nearly 90% of the $349 billion set aside through the Paycheck Protection Program had been designated. Negotiations for additional funding have been held up by pushes from Democrat congressional members for food stamp benefits and women-owned businesses.

Senator Marco Rubio, the chair of the committee, “Now 700,000 small business applications are in limbo and no new loans will be made until the game of chicken in Congress ends and additional dollars approved.” Currently, Congress is considering an additional $250 billion for the program to uphold small businesses amid the pandemic.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For God to lead Congress to the best legislation to help the nation recover.
  • For the White House and Congress to work together to bring relief from this pandemic.
  • That God would bring healing to those sick from the COVID-19 virus.
