Senators Push for Anti-Bias Police Training

Concerns surround unfair stops over medical masks.

Certain members of the Senate announced their plans to increase anti-bias training for the nation’s police forces on Friday, due to reports of discrimination against African Americans wearing medical masks to protect themselves from COVID-19. In a letter sent to the Justice Department, lawmakers urged federal agencies to provide this training to local agencies.

The letter said, “With the ongoing public health emergency, it is more important than ever for law enforcement to build trust with communities of color.” The letter went on to express concern that if communities of color were unfairly targeted it could lead to fewer uses of protective medical equipment that is vital to reduce the spread of the virus.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the Senate to pass laws that protect the rights of those under duress in the nation.
  • For the Justice Department to have wisdom on the appropriate training to provide to law enforcement.
  • That God would use the nation’s police forces to protect every American.
