Senator Sanders Suspends Race for President

“Our movement has won the ideological struggle,” he said.

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders announced Wednesday that he was suspending his second bid for the presidential nomination of the Democrat party.

In a live-stream video, he said, “Few would deny that over the course of the past five years, our movement has won the ideological struggle. It was not long ago that people considered these ideas radical and fringe. Today, they are mainstream ideas, and many of them are already being implemented in cities and states across the country. That is what we have accomplished together.”

That leaves Joe Biden the primary contender for the nomination, whom Senator Sanders called “a decent man” and he pledged to work with him to “move our progressive ideas forward.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For former Vice President Joe Biden as he stands atop the candidate group that remains for the presidential nomination of the Democrat party.
  • For the 2020 presidential campaign to be conducted with dignity and respect.
  • For the campaign planners as they work around requirements of social distancing, the lack of large rallies, and other impediments to “getting their message out.”
