U.S. Warns of Foreign Disinformation Campaign

Foreign powers seek to sow panic

On Monday President Trump’s Administration announced that U.S. Intelligence services had uncovered that foreign powers were attempting to undermine the public response to the growing coronavirus pandemic. The Pentagon warned the U.S. of “false & absurd conspiracy theories about the origin of COVID-19 blaming U.S. service members,” that originated in China. President Trump described the actions as “playing games” with the U.S. population.

One example that has also recently emerged was scam texts announcing a national quarantine. The National Security Council said that “text message rumors of a national #quarantine are FAKE. There is no national lockdown.” The president’s administration instructed Americans to get their source of information directly from government websites and briefings to avoid any fake reports.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump to effectively end the outbreak of Coronavirus.
  • That National Intelligence agencies would prevent the spread of misinformation.
  • For Congress to work with the White House to pass legislation to help the nation.
