House Votes on Coronavirus

Bill provides relief from growing economic challenges

On Saturday, the House of Representatives voted on and passed a spending bill aimed to address the growing coronavirus risk around the United States. The bill passed with large bipartisan support with the final vote being 363-40. The president also tweeted his support saying, “I fully support H.R. 6201: Families First CoronaVirus Response Act, which will be voted on in the House this evening.”

President Trump’s support indicates that the Senate will likely quickly vote on the measure in order to pass the bill into law. The bill has provisions for free CoronaVirus tests, paid sick leave for workers who are in contact with the sicknesses, and help for small businesses that are impacted by the slowdown in the economy.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That God would give the Senate wisdom on how to vote.
  • For the Trump Administration to continue to work with Congress to bring aid to Americans impacted by the sickness.
  • For the CDC to deploy resources to stop the spread of sickness.
