Congress Closes Capitol To Public

New measures in place to slow the spread of the disease

Congress announced on Thursday that the grounds of the Capitol building would no longer be open to the public in an effort to combat the spread of the Coronavirus. Around the nation, several states and municipalities have restricted the gatherings of more than 250 people, as the global cases of the virus climbed to over 125,000. Congressional Representatives were advised to limit physical contact as well.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said, “We’re addressing the realities of life” to reporters. New health precautions have also been put in place including placing personal belongings in plastic bags to limit exposure at security checkpoints. Currently, half a dozen House members and senators are self-quarantining following contact with people who tested positive.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For God to protect the health of our elected leaders.
  • That the efforts of Congress would bring about health and safety for Americans.
  • That President Trump’s Administration would be used by God to bring an end to this pandemic.
