Labor Department Proposing Overtime Rules Revamp
Would expand number of workers covered
On Monday, the Labor Department sent to the White House a proposed revamping of federal regulations governing overtime. The regulons are anticipated to expand the number of workers covered by the rule by an estimated 1.2 million people.
The proposed rule has been sent to the White House Office of Management and Budget for review. It will also be posted online on Tuesday.
There is no scheduled date for when the administration will complete its review or when the rule change would take place.
