Administration Says Planned Parenthood Must Comply With Title X Rules
They are given until Monday to meet compliance
Last month, new rules were issued by the Department of Health and Human Services after Congress approved a bipartisan budget in which the law prohibits organizations from receiving Title X tax dollars if they provide abortions.
The Planned Parenthood organization has chosen to stop tapping into Title X family planning funds, while bowing to challenge the restrictions in court, arguing it can still receive Title X dollars until the courts decide what to do.
But the Trump Administration through HHS has given the abortion giant until Monday to comply with its regulations or completely exit the family-planning program. They said Planned Parenthood must demonstrate “good faith efforts” to comply with the rules of the program and submit an “action plan” describing how it will do so, or face federal regulation. That means that if it wants to be part of the Title X family planning program, Planned Parenthood must stop providing and referring women to abortions.
