New White House Press Secretary Named
Will serve both president and first lady
The Communications Director for First Lady Melania Trump, Stephanie Grisham, will be the next White House Press Secretary. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who has held the position of Press Secretary during turbulent relations with the press, has resigned effective July 1.
Before joining the first lady in the East Wing, Grisham worked as a deputy press secretary in the West Wing. She will now be “shared” by both the first lady and President Trump as the top Administration press secretary.
First Lady Melania Trump tweeted, “I can think of no better person to serve the Administration and our country. Excited to have Stephanie working for both sides of the White House.”
- For Stephanie Grisham as she now takes on the position as President Trump’s Press Secretary while still retaining her position as the Communications Director for the First Lady.
For Sarah Sanders as she considers whether to run for governor of Arkansas.
