President Makes Unannounced Visit to Arlington

Will be in Japan when Memorial Day observed

On Thursday, President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump made an unannounced visit to the Arlington National Cemetery. They were ushered by military service members to place flags at headstones in the section where famous soldiers such as Army General John J. Pershing and Army Corporal Frank Buckles are buried.

On the day when the rest of the nation observes Memorial Day, President Trump will be in Japan. He is expected to attend an event with U.S. troops at Yokosuka Naval Base to mark the holiday.
