Proclamation on Education and Sharing Day, U.S.A., 2019
President sets aside day to honor an American legend and urge on our educational system
President Trump set Tuesday of last week, April 16th, aside as Education and Sharing Day, U.S.A. In a statement from the White House, the president expressed a desire for all people in our nation to have fair access to education. He wrote, “Genuine education depends on the free sharing of thought. That is why I recently signed an Executive Order to improve free inquiry, transparency, and accountability at colleges and universities.”
The decision to pursue Education and Sharing Day, U.S.A. was brought about by the legacy of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe. This great teacher taught that all men should be allowed to grow in knowledge and live in to our inherent character and connection to other people.
- President Trump as he oversees continued efforts to better America. May the Lord grant him a more full understanding of the needs of United States citizens, increasing day by day.
- For the U.S. Department of Education, as they continue in their task of equipping the future leaders of our country through educational resources. May they have God-given direction, perspective, and passion for future generations.
