Senate Confirms William Barr as Attorney General
Chief Justice Roberts administers oath
William Barr, President Trump’s nominee to be Attorney General, was confirmed Thursday by the Senate.
The 54 to 45 vote was near to party lines. Senators Doug Jones of Alabama, Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona and Joe Manchin of West Virginia joined the majority.
A swearing-in ceremony to be held at the White House later on Thursday will have Chief Justice John Roberts administering the oath of office to Attorney General Barr.
