Nation Honors President George H.W. Bush
President honored with Hail to the Chief
Following three days of funeral events in Washington D.C., the entire country came together to honor and remember the life and legacy of the 41st President of the United States George H.W. Bush on Wednesday. His memorial service at the National Cathedral was attended by all of the current living presidents and several international statesmen. Of note was his son, President George W. Bush’s eulogy in which he tearfully bid farewell to his father, with the hope that he was now united in heaven with his wife and daughter.
The remains of President Bush have been transported to his home in Texas for his burial on Thursday. On the way to Joint Base Andrews, the hearse drove to the National Mall to pass by the World War II Memorial in honor of the late president’s service with the Navy during the War. With cannons blasting, hail to the chief was played one final time before the plane took off.
- For the Bush family to have peace during this challenging time.
- For President Trump to lead the nation through this time of mourning.
- For the final arrangements on Thursday to go smoothly.
