Fifth wave of nominations during the administration

On Tuesday, March 6, 2018, President Trump announced his intended nominees for the fifth wave of U.S. Marshals under his administration. The nominees, if appointed, will be responsible for protecting the federal judiciary. Day-to-day responsibilities of U.S. Marshals include fugitive capture, prisoner transportation, and witness protection. The nominees will include:

  • Dallas L. Carlson (ND) to U.S. Marshal for the District of North Dakota
  • Sonya K. Chavez (NM) to U.S. Marshal for the District of New Mexico
  • Gregory Allyn Forest (NC) to U.S. Marshal for the Western District of North Carolina
  • Brendan O. Heffner (IL) to U.S. Marshal for the Central District of Illinois
  • Bradley A. Maxwell (IL) to U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Illinois
  • Theodor G. Short (ME) to U.S. Marshal for the District of Maine
