David Hale was appointed to be the Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs. This is the third-ranking position in the Department of State. This position oversees the day-to-day responsibilities of policy making for regional and bilateral issues.
Lane Genatowski was appointed to be Director of the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) at the Department of Energy. ARPA-E focuses on energy projects that are too new for the private sector to advance the technology. They award researchers with funding for various research projects.
Bryan Jarrett was selected to be the Assistant Secretary of Labor for Policy. The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Policy advises the Secretary of Labor on policy development, program evaluation, regulations, etc. to improve the lives of workers.
