UPDATE: This has been elevated to a Prayer Alert due to the concerns for security and the urgency of this meeting.
President Donald Trump is set to meet with North Korea Leader Kim Jong Un at Singapore on Tuesday, June 12, at 9 AM local time (Monday, June 11, 9 PM EST). The expected schedule of the talks is a 45-minute one-on-one meeting with translators, a 90-minute meeting with state officials, followed by a “working lunch” with the largest group of people.
This meeting is the first between the leadership of North Korea and the United States. President Trump has expressed a desire to come to an agreement that would evolve the nuclear disarmament of North Korea, and the official end of the Korean War, which has been in a cease-fire since 1953. North Korea is expected to request a removal of U.S. troops from the Korean peninsula, as well as being recognized on the world stage.
