The celebration of the 70th anniversary of the modern state of Israel began last night at sundown.
Vice President Mike Pence spoke on January 11 at AFWERX Vegas. The event served as the opening of the United States first AFWERX program in the nation. AFWERX is a United States Air Force program created to incorporate the innovation of leaders from both the public and private sectors to promote national security. The idea behind AFWERX is getting as many brilliant minds together as possible to invent solutions to problems experienced by the service.
At the event, Vice President Pence stated, “Innovation is deeply ingrained in the heritage of the United States Air Force, in particular, in the pioneers, the explorers, and the trailblazers who lived to break barriers in the skies above us where we stand today, to achieve the impossible, to bring the future into the present. And now AFWERX Vegas will contribute to this legacy I have no doubt.” The vice president took time to thank leaders in attendance and commended those who were responsible for opening the center in Nevada and their commitment to the U.S. Air Force.
