Multiple fires are raging in Southern California. Near Santa Paula, California, a bush fire picked up pace Tuesday morning and was burning at a rate of nearly an acre per second. More than 45,000 acres and 150 buildings, homes, and an evacuated hospital have already been engulfed.
Over 27,000 people have been evacuated, thousands are without power, and 1,000 firefighters are working tirelessly to fight the blaze. Air tankers and helicopters were grounded early on due to darkness and strong winds.
Currently, the work to contain the fire is still ongoing. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) issued multiple warnings regarding the fires and approved funds towards the support and response efforts.
